Quantitative Market Research Analyst
If you are highly numerate, enthusiastic about rigorous data analysis and extraction of insights, have a strong eye for detail, a thirst for knowledge and are willing to provide support to a senior team of quantitative researchers, we’d like to meet you.
You will assist the market research team with the day-to-day management and operations of quantitative research projects.
Your day-to-day duties would include:
- data analysis (SPSS, Q and Excel)
- coding of open-ended survey responses
- assisting the team with creation of charts and PowerPoint presentations
- proof reading of questionnaires and other documents
- checking of online survey links pre-fieldwork
- monitoring of progress of fieldwork operations
- some basic questionnaire drafting
- desk research as required
While an understanding of statistics and experience in basic data analysis techniques is essential, the role provides an opportunity to improve knowledge in the area of advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, factor analysis and segmentation. In this role you will also be exposed to advanced quantitative analytical techniques and development of strategic insights.
Essential criteria for this role:
• 1-2 years experience in an analytical role or a tertiary qualification in a statistics-based discipline
• Highly numerate with very strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail and commitment to achieving a quality outcome
• Strong experience in data analysis and use of statistical software (e.g. SPSS)
• Clear oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to create professional standard data charts in PowerPoint
• Team player who takes initiative and responsibility for actions
• Motivated to learn and develop a career within the market research industry
• Advanced PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
• Experience with Mac Operations would be beneficial yet not essential
• Experience or knowledge of advanced statistical techniques would be beneficial yet not essential
• Australian resident
This role would suit a tertiary graduate in Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Marketing or similar, or someone who has 1-2 years experience in a similar analyst role.
